Shop manual help

I have the chance to have my 240 d motor rebuilt at the local tech college for the cost of parts. Here is the catch the teacher wants me to supply a MB shop manual ( hard copy )
Anyone willing to loan a copy out for a few months,or any idea where I might purchase the correct manual?
Thanks in advance
JOHN

Do you know the title of the manual you need?

I have several factory books for the 240d (1977) but not all so I may not have the one you need but will look. The books are in storage so it might take a day or two to get at them.

You can find MB engine shop manuals on ebay all the time. You will need the 615 616 617.91 engine manual. That is for the 4 cyl diesel, and the 5 cyl non-turbo diesel engine.

Here is one for example:

My manuals finally appeared, and I do have an "Engine Service Manual" for engines 615, 616, 617.91.

I don't know if it would work for your car and in looking at it, I think it would be difficult to rebuild an engine with the information that it provides.

It has cutaway drawings of some engine parts and torque settings and some of the special tools that are needed to work on these engines.

There is also some technical information that might be adequate for someone with experience in rebuilding engines.

Did you get another manual yet?
