mb diesels and harmonic vibration or

watch out the microwaves are coming.....

the other day blondie was running in the drive after installing a new battery and having starting probs.(prob went away with a new oprimary. gotta talk to the kid about where he gets his fuelanyway...) the neighbor comes out getting all swaggering because he is getting dsl at home. yeah steve i have had it three years ever since i ditcheched cable. so he tells me that when i fire up the 300td hos house starts to shake. hos bottle collection in the living room shales and the whole car wakes him up at 5:10 when i leave in the morning.

isn't a turbo MUCH quieter than a 240?

has anyone else had a neighbor complain about "shake" in THEIR house?

he just came back from 4 weeks in fla with his bro and i keep hoping he will just pack it in and move. don't spend 4 weeks in fla and then come home bringing with you -7 temps and highs of 28 and complain about the cold. up yers neighbor. okay i feel better now.

so, what about the vibe problem?

he needs some heavier drugs.

i dont think the turbo is much if any quieter at idle. if the car idleing is shaking his dishes he needs to check his floor joists for termites.

tell him your architect said so.

Rocks and harmonics

You're story reminds me of living in southern Indiana. We had huge shelves of limestone rock fairly close to the surface of the ground. These shelves could be miles long.

When the rock quarry would blast, we could feel it about six miles away. Many other people had similar experiences.

It also made for a lot of great caves

Kinda like using a hardwood stick at your ear touching an engine in different spots trying to find out where the knock is coming from.

Lower frequency sounds travel better in solid materials, like rock and hard woods, than in the open air.

Maybe your driveway and the neighbors house is connected by a big rock.
You could get one of those bass speakers the kids put in there cars and really shake his house up.

Gees I hate rotten neighbors !!!

when one of my diesels

pulls in the driveway i can feel it. the low frequency thud thud thud of the motor is very distinctive. it is subtle but very specific.
