Smile 1982 SD Gas Pedal Slop. Is 3/4" too much?

Hello,

I just got this thing. I have to push pedal about 3/4 inch before the IP starts to get some input. Is this normal? If not where is it best to take out the slop?

It has cruise control so I am reluctant to adjust it without some experienced MB'er tell me if I should or not. It just feels Funkie.

Steve

Thanks Seth for the replay.

Its really hard to describe but if you have someone press the pedal a few times while you watch the linkage move, you'll see what needs to be adjusted. I did this on my '84 right before my brother sold it to me and he was so impressed he almost didn't let me have it! I don't think messing with the linkage will affect the cruise but I'm not certain since I didn't adjust the rod that went to the actuator.
