Hi , IS there anybody out there that can tell me of a glow plug relay for a 1996 E300 D. I replaced all the glow plugs but it is still starting rough and seems like the plugs are not getting juice, The problem clears even on the coldest day in less than a couple minutes, Thanks with any help.

The relay switch is mounted inside top driver's side. Approx 4" square with cover on 1 end. It's extremely easy to remove & replace. 2 plugs off & on. OEM Part # 015 545 30 32. I replaced mine,then found out plugs were bad,so replaced those & all is fine. Still have my relay switch which may have been fine afterall. Good luck !

With a multimeter, or a simple 12v test probe, check to see of there is 12v at any of the glow plug leads.

If not, it might not be the relay just yet. Open the cap and check the "U" shaped, thin, flat 80 ampere fuse.
