Trans-X is basically a high powered cleaner, several forum members have used it with good results. I think you can get it at parts stores or maybe even the dreaded wally world. I think it would be worth a try if you can find it.

Have you disconnected the kick down switch to see if there is any difference? I would not put the trans x in if you do not have the fluid room on the dipstick. If you want to put it in make some room by sucking it out at a shop and then add the trans x.
Do you remember how you turned the modulator?? If you only turned it one turn then just turn it back to where it was. If you do not know disconnect the vacuum source and adjust it so at full throttle the shifts are firm but not obnoxious.

at full throttle you mean to adjust for the shift points indicated by the pedometer makings as well as making sure the shifts are firm using the rull the counter clockwise is more pressure resulting in a latter shift and that turning the key clockwise will produce less preassure and earlier shifts??~Luke

waiting on filter kit from diesel giant. i have already tried the kickdown switch and thats a no go. it made no diffrence. should i think the worst at this point, that my trans might officially be dead or is there something simple like a rebuild kit or something i can do to keep by benz alive. driving at this high of an rpm all the time cannot be good on the engine. i love itallian tune ups , dont get me wrong, but this is absolutly insane

Clockwise is more pressure and counterclockwise is less pressure.

Since adjusting the vacuum modulator adjust the quality of the shift then I wouldn't know how you would judge it while on jack stands. Bite the bullet and jack it up and down then take it for a ride. Check the full throttle response as well as partial throttle response.

it adjusts more than that on the 722.118......on that trans the modulators focus is on shift points and not so much on quality.....ur thinking of a 722.3 trans
