No, you're not a bad person. Years ago, I friend of mine bought a motorcycle from a guy who couldn't get the clutch to work right. After he paid for it, I spent about five minutes adjusting the clutch and off he went. The sellers were not too happy but as someone else said, they didn't pay ME to fix it.

I agree with Mr. Kenny. A non running car is worth it's price in parts or scrap. If the seller is not willing to part it out, it's worth the scrap price. Call a local junk yard and ask how much they would pay for the car.
