Transmission cooler line interchange

So the cooler line on my 83 300TDt sprang a leak. It rubbed through inside of one of the clamps. I snaked it out and had planned on installing the cooler line from my 1984 Euro 300D that I am parting out. The problem is that the banjo fitting where it connects to the transmission is different. The euro car has a smaller banjo fitting.

Is this a turbo vs NA tranny difference?

What are my chances of getting the right hose at the dealer seeing as there are at least two different style hoses?

cheap

I once cut the pipe flange off stuck a piece of pipe in and
used douple clamps and it worked for years...

but the last time it happened to me... belt broke and cut the line
i went to the mercedes dealer and it was like 20 bucks... on my 1983
300sd so it was not to painful...the new one was encased in a wire to protect it from belt breakage...

I have a set of replacement rubber lines (encased in wire). The hole that I'm dealing with is in the metal hard line. I'll probably suck up the $80 at the dealer for a new hard line rather than risk hose clamps on a smooth metal line. If it was barbed around the cut that would be one thing, but it isn't.

722.3 has a bigger banjo than the 722.4 but they use the same flex hose. Im not familiar with the Euro models.

I am not familiar with the Euro models, and can't give you an answer to the difference in parts.

However, I have been through the hole in the hard line scenario a couple of years ago. If I recall, the pre-formed replacement was $50. Also, I bought new clamps to ensure that I did not have a repeat problem.

If you have a flaring tool you can always make a new connection at the broken area. It's very easy and, should I meantion, way cheaper than replacing the entire line.
