Almost new VW diesel engine

I just got a 80's Diesel engine with a 5 speed out of a VW dasher. The car was rear ended and the engine has been a storage bin for 12 years. I spoke with the shop that overhauled the engine and I was told it has 2,ooo mile on it at the most. I was covered and looks perfect.
Any ideas what to do with it...should I find a car to put it in...or use it as a powerplant. It would be a good engine for an air boat, inboard/outboard, or a generator. Thanks for any ideas.

I used to have an old Dasher. Those cars handled great.

I would see if you could transfer it to an old VW bug.

put it in a Suzuki Samari. Kits available to do this. They also put them in VW busses as upgrades.

Now to find one with a bad engine. I like the truck idea the best...most of those engine must have bit the dust by now. I drove a VW rabbit taxi and we had 5 of them. Changed the oil often and got over 300K on all of them. Bodies fell apart and were to small for a taxi...but 50MPG

I could use it...but its not like you are exactly in my neighborhood. Seems like half the world is planning a trip to Florida, though. Are you in that half?
