Help with timing chain 300d turbo
I am going to need to pull my engine down, it does run but long story short was in an accident broke oil filter housing and idled out of oil and stuck!!!!! I am a machinist mechanic by trade but am finding very confussing info on routing and timing all of the stuff related to the timing chain, otherwise it seem straight forward. can anyone lead me to a post or sorce with clear accurate info specifically on this issue.... This post has some good info.
Injection pump timing I think even the cheap Haynes manual explains reinstalling the IP . There are marks on the gear for the IP that make getting it lined up pretty easy. Reminded me of doing a camshaft alignment. Replacing a timing chain is easy and no routing is required. If you tear down and rebuild, that is a nother story.
