A couple A/C questions
Hi again. I was looking over my A/C system for a possible repair and I have a few questions. First, where is the high side service port? I can't find it to save my life. Second, the bottom of my receiver-dryer is rusted badly and I was wondering if this is common? I am replacing it anyway but I was just kinda curious. Third, the compressor is only on right now with 1 bolt, the upper one on the driver side, does anyone know a source for the other 2 bolts and spacers? Fourth, has anyone successfully converted to R-134A and how did it cool? Thanks.

Check out this to your A/C questions.
http://dieselgiant.com/repairyourac.htm Dont use 134a unless you want to replace the compressor very soon! Either use the original R-12 or Freeze 12. The pressures are much lower and move the oil through the system much better. The oil required with 134a is very hydroscopic and absorbs moisture like a sponge, very bad.
