headlight/tail light wiring

Hi,
I hit a fence a few weeks ago, stupidly wasnt looking at road while trying to turn down my stereo b/c i have to use a pencil or something pointed to jam into it since button broke off. but anyway, a 3 foot peice of 2X4 went through my headlight fixture and into my engine compartment(the only damage done the the vehicle). It shredded alot of wiring and that metal cage with all the coils, but iv managed to fix everything back to normal.

Except the other day someone told me my taillight was out, so i bought a new bulb and replaced it, though i still didnt light. I started investigating with a voltmeter and couldnt find any solution. I looked at some wiring schematics and saw that the taillight (right side) is connected to the front blinker (right side), so i went back over to the headlight that had been smashed and wiring shredded, i sorted out some of the wiring and got things back to normal, though, there are 3 brown wires left over. I stripped the ends and noticed that they were straight and had some solder on the ends running down along the wires inside the insulation, also the plastic insulation around them was melted (dont know if this matters) but i dont know where they go.

On the right headlight there are a total of 4 brown wires, 1 is for the ground of the blinker. On the left side, there are a total of 3 brown wires, and they are all connected and in the plug for the headlight assembly. So i tried the same set up that the left side had, but no luck with the tailight. All my fuses are in check...i am at a loss and have no idea, these 3 brown wires on the right side dont even exist in the wiring schematics, nor do they seem to serve any purpose? or do they? can they be the reason my tailight is out? if not, what could be the cause of my tailight being out? everything seems generally in check, save those 3 myster wires

Oops, sry forgot to mention my type of car, its a '83 mercedes 300 d 123 chassis

My pride and joy

Would this be on a 1956 Cadillac?
