'81 300D - Broke the Main Vac Line
Lesson learned, troubleshooting vacuum issues in the cold can lead to more issues .
I cracked the main vac line. I don't see the replacement listed on Phil's site . . . is this a dealer only item? Anybody know if I can replace just the sectiont that cracked, or will I have to replace the entire line, orifices and all? Is this gonna hurt the wallet? It might be a good thing to replace the whole thing, so i can rule out the orifices as being the issue . . . Eric '81 300D |

Is this what you are looking for? They run in the $40 -$50 range, so its not too bad. I believe you have to replace the whole thing.
You might be able to use some tape or carefully use some epoxy to fix it temporarily untill you get the new one. http://63.89.49.212/mercedesshop/sophio/wizard.jsp?partner=mercedesshop&clientid=catalog.mercedesshop&baseurl=http://catalog.peachparts.com/&cookieid=1L00T87R01R81CV4TK&year=1981&make=MB&model=300-D-002&category=All&part=Booster+Vacuum+Hose&appChassis=_any
