Primer pump gushing fuel: safe to drive?
I just changed the fuel filters on my '84 300TD. It was easy and painless until I started working the primer pump. It filled the clear filter, then started gushing fuel (100% biodiesel) all over the place.
Is it safe to finish the job and drive the car until I get and install a new pump?

waste of fuel, but I drove about 500 miles with pure diesel splashing all over the place. Stuff just doesn't burn without high temps and high pressure...reckon it's a bear to put out once it starts burning though.
Certainly not an experience I'm proud of though. |

Your car will smell terrible for weeks or months even Why don't you order a new one from Phil here at the top of the page. I don't know about everyone else, but, all my orders arrived the next day!! He's under the 'Buy Parts' tab..... I think you could also end up stranded by only getting air and no fuel because its all going on the ground and everywhere else
