IT'S SPRING! and that means.......

I may actually get around to putting some of that R12 to good use. It'll be a bummer if we don't get at least one really hot day to try it out though. So, what's YOUR most hopeful and improbable seasonal repair project?

Hatterasguy 03-20-2006 01:46 PM

Improbable?
Full repaint and body restoration this summer on the SDL.

Springtime is when it finally gets warm enough for POR-15 to cure properly.

Man I would love to tackle all that. My step-dad pulled his 22ft Dolphin to sell last fall. He wants to get a trailerable boat so they can travel more easily. I guess I'm going to get something small like a Sunfish for myself.

300D

1) Get A/c to blow colder and through the center vents...
(will take it to a good German mechanic for this.)

2) Fix my *****'n sunroof!

3) Find a rust free 300D at the U pull it, and cut out the piece below the rear windshield and weld it onto my 300D to get rid of rust...and put in the new seal I've had for over a year.

4) Blast the WHO live CD realy loud after this is done....

I'm not looking forward to the bugs. :(

sailor15015.,
You volunteering for the job! I'll pay your airplane ticket and free room and board! I am about the finish the seacocks and they were a huge PITA, installed in largely inaccessible areas that you can only reach with your fingertips. Makes working on a car look pleasant.

Tell your dad I have a very nice Catalina 22 for sale, about 98% redone. Trailerable swing keel model. Don't have a trailer for her but if you can find one I will let her go cheap. RT

Pete Geither 03-22-2006 10:49 AM

Fixed chips on the front of the hood yesterday and replacing the pitted windshield today on the TE. :D

Tiredofagasser 03-22-2006 10:22 PM

Spring?

How 'bout all summer?!
Not in any order: replace the windsheild as its pitted badly, get the antenna working, take the stereo over to United Radio for a rebuild, glow plugs, valve adjustment, renew f&r pads- maybe a rotor or 2, fix odometer- sticks here 'an there, figure out how water gets on the rear pass. floor, replace the flipper things on the valve cover, tranny service, get the dash repaired, get a new pass. side hood hinge and re-align the hood and fender, install new in cabin hood release handle and cable(vise grip blues), belts- minus the A/C(compressor is bad), alternator just to be safe, fan clutch- always turns blades even when stone cold, and put in a new windshield washer nozzle 'cause some idiot put a 'one stream' on drivers side! Duh!!! Whew........anyone wanna buy a TD? Just kidding!

Do something about my broken down drivers seat, and that ratty carpet on the driver's side. Plenty of other things to do in there too.
