Search=confused

After reading several post, and all of Whunters posts on 240d engine swap. I have some questions that havent been answered. Couldn't you put 240d flywheel onto 617 in the car and run engine to see if the flywheel needs to be balanced?...I know this has been gone over a million times but I haven't heard of it going this way. There is one post that says " DO NOT TRY THIS SWAP " then there are several that have done this with ZERO PROBLEMS. So what the h... are you supposed to really do with the flywheel issue??? I have searched and searched other forums also, so yes the search feature has been used....ANY ADVICE IS MUCH APPERCIATED (sp)

You can just put the 240D flywheel on to match the 300D flywheel. Heavy side to match heavy side. But you really should have it match balanced to the old flywheel if you have a choice.

Every engine is balanced on it's own. I doubt you will ever find 2 flywheels balanced exactly the same.
