The question wasn't what DIESEL, or non-fuel using vehicle would be your keeper, it was whatever vehicle. I'm sorry that at this time the SAFETY of my kids come first and foremost.

BTW, my diesel MB (coming next week) WILL be run on bio, soap made from the glycerin and wash water used to water my lawn.
Unless you walk everywhere, don't play holier than thou with me.

That was just uncalled for Austin. . .
Nothing personal to you . I understand your reasoning, Just a jab at SUV's. IMHO they are PITA s**tboxes that cause more harm than good. IMHO while they "protect" your kids they're dangerous to "mine" and others. Another selfish indulgence. They block the road for normal size cars and most peole who drive them are inconsiderate dicks. (not that you are.) Everyone's entitled....

At the risk of being a bore, my 2002 ML 270 CDI comes about as close to a keeper as I have ever owned.
Seats 7, unbelievable fuel economy, great performance, not too large, not too small, all the safety gear - ESP, Brake Assist, Window Airbags, etc etc.
A very practical and easy to drive vehicle.

Thumbs up

Only thing semi-new I really want is a 996 or the newer 997 Porsche turbo ragtop. But the total cost I could pick up a few more rental homes to make some cash and have assets. Who knows, maybe in time.

I'd like a 280SL (80s one, M110 motor with the five speed) as another MB. I really don't want any newer ones and I like which ones I have currently. The SDL is really slick.

But I will have an '89-91 F350 CCLB Dually 4x4 (D60 up front), 35" tires, 4.10:1 gear is plenty with a 12V Cummins swap. Most of the diesels came with 3.55:1 gear only. Suncoast E4OD. Be a great tow rig and pull a house down.

Yeah, no doubt driving one would be about as much fun as you can have with your pants on!

But it would cost a fortune, tickets, tickets, more RUF mods.

Gumball 3000+ lawyers fees.

You only live once though...
