If I'm not mistaken, one molecule of this stuff destroys approximately 1 million ozone molecules when let into the atmosphere.

By letting it into the atmosphere you are doing your part for a better Venus here on Earth.

Since I'm currently studing for a 609 cert, it is ~100,000. But still it is significant...

Well now I know....and we all know what % of the battle that is.

Edit: Seems my post was entirely incorrect...less ozone will make the earth more like Mars, not Venus.

Not to start a problem here but I think its all a bunch of crap. I bet a fart from a Dog is about the same effect of letting this crap go.

Im old school.

BTW I dont even bother fixing AC so dont get your tree hugging panties in a knot. But If I was to spend the energy into the AC system I wouldnt think twice about letting that stuff go into the air. My friend that is in the Army went to Kosavo & he told me all about the 3rd world country way of dealing with enviromental things (Dumping tires in the ditch , pouring waste oil on the ground, etc) So us Americans are far better then the 3rd world Dives.

The shop you bring it to might even let it go into the air you wouldnt know.

Hrmmm... any chance you could pick them up for me next time you're there? I'll send the cash obviously.

Since the stuff is so expensive, why would you want to waste it anyway? Get a shop that has a recycle machine and let them take it out. Then repair your system and have then vacuum and refill.
