Low Idle and Manual

Just got an '82 300d Turbo Diesel. It idles very low (loud and shaky)
What is the best way to adjust the idle up? Also, is it true haynes nor Chilton made repair books for MBZ?
Thanks
Bryan

I do not know but the idle adjust on early 123s is a small knob that looks kind of like a rehostat adjuster for the instrument panel. It is located to the lower left of the instrument cluster. Turning it left is the higher idle. This feature was dropped but do not know when. Both companys mentioned have and still do sell manuals for the 123 diesel series cars. Or at least one of them do and pretty easy to find. Check ebay mercedes parts sub catagory literature or manuals for 123. Lots should come up if non available locally. Rough idle can be a multitude of things and with this site you should be able to work through it. Go into the archives section.
