The BEST oil in the world!!!

My relatives are diesel fanatics. I finally joined the exciting world of diesel MBZ this past weekend FINALLY with my purchase of an *82 300D Turbo Diesel.
They all swear by the Rotella T.

I love thier advice but feel it may be biased after 10,000 years of Rotella T use. What's do you find as the best for your MBZ TD??????
Thanks
Bryan

Thanks again.

Hi and welcome to the forums. Glad to see another Atlantan!

I always use Amsoil synthetic oil in all my machinery. Been using over 10 years and it has saved more than one car.

Talking Amsoil

Thanks, that is the primary oil I have read about being used in these awesome machines. Where is the best place to get it in the metro ATL area?
Thanks

You have to order it from Amsoil and they ship it to you. I buy it at wholesale. If you want send me an email and I will tell you how to get it cheap.

Exclamation Regular synthetic or for diesels?

Will Mobil 1 synthetic be fine or does it have to be for diesels specifically?

We are all waiting for Mobil to finally return with the 5W-40 weight oil. Seems that the -40 weight has disappeared for awhile. When it returns, it should be "Truck and SUV oil" or something similar.

This include the filters? I run their filters on my gassers...

I use the Castrol Diesel oil (dino), have been for nearly 30K now in the SD and works fine. SDL runs it too.

This is the web site for the new version of 5W40:

http://www.mobil1.com/USA-English/MotorOil/Oils/Mobil_1_Turbo_Diesel_Truck_5W-40.aspx

Hopefully it will turn up soon, the supplies of the old 5W40 seem to be running low around here.

Rotella T

Back in a previous millenium, I used Rotella in a couple of Alfas Romeo. It was a great oil, not that it did the poor Alfas any good.

My 300DT is new-to-me since last Thursday so I haven't chosen an oil yet. All I know about the stuff in the engine now is that it is black .

And it'll always be black.

Delo 400 and Delvac Super represent the best as they offer fanstastic performance for the money paid,Delvac-I reprensents the cutting edge needed for extreme conditions. All these attributes to me represent the best oil in the market,I am sure there are others as well but these stand out the most to me.
