My 240D has the original kit, but I doubt the supplies are really useable. It smells a little funky if you open it. I just keep it because it's original. I put a real first aid kit in the box in my 300D (from a camping store) because I travel with that car and I might actually need it someday. I agree a fire extinguisher is a good idea.

I doubt mine is any good either. Isn't it advised that you change the contents of a firstaid kit every couple years?

I put a fire extinguisher in my car a few months ago.

Mine is in that plastic bag in a hard plastic box in the rear window shelf.

These first aid kit comes with a pair of scissor, which is made in Germany. I found an extra pair and carry it with me when I travel. Amazing they cut well, compared to others. These scissors can be carried with you when you fly. Sharper scissors will be confiscated - you see lots of these on Ebay!
