Can a W123 280E be used as diesel body donor? Anyone want one?
I happen to know of a 280E which has severe fuel system issues. Add to that that the interior is complete but not great, and that it's a 1978 with the dreaded climate servo, and I'm thinking that its rust-free condition with intact glass is its major selling point.
Hypothetically, would anyone pay a few hundred dollars for this car? Or is it scrap? The AZ climate has treated the metal well, and as we know, engines/trans can be replaced but rust is forever... Curious to know your thoughts... |

There's a variety of engines that should drop right into that body...the OM615, 616, 617N/A, 617Turbo and the 4cyl 230 gasser. Fuel system issues? if the engine is still good why not just replace the fuel system components...280's are awesome!
