never an ALDA
While making sure the line from the intake to the switch over valve was clear, I thought I'd test the valve. The bottom vacuum port was plugged solid! I needed a drill bit for it to start to clear. Doesn't matter anyway. It doesn't work. Got approx. 29 ohms across the pins, but nothing when voltage applied.
I didn't think the performance was that bad driving it this way. I guess I'm in for a bit of surprise when things are working properly! From reading items of this nature on this forum, I thought the performance would be terrible without a properly working alda. I'm pleased that the valve is cheap, but I'm wondering how to keep it clean? I saw a thread a while back about adding an inline filter. I also saw a thread on taking the valve apart to clean it. Doesn't look like there's a way to do that except to split it apart, thanks, Paul.
