87 300TD sunroof motor - can I use a sedan one?

Hi all,

My son decided to open the sunroof in the winter and, as I've read, that's not a good idea with a 124. The motor stopped turning and the roof was stuck open Thankfully I was able to close it manually by turning the motor's drive screw.

It doesn't sound like the sunroof motor is turning at all. I see some sunroof motors for sale on eBay but nothing from a wagon. I know the cabling is different for the sedans. Are the motors different? Anyone know whether I can use a motor from another w124 or does it have to be an 87 wagon?
