After returning from Oklahoma, I wonder why anyone would want a Sports Car in NJ...

After returning from Oklahoma, I wonder why anyone would want a Sports Car in NJ. I'm back happy as a Pig in Heat driving my 300D 1985 around....
The first thing that hits you when you come back is WOW There sure are a lot of cars and congestion here in New Jersey!!! What good is your Boxster or Nissan 350X or Super tuned SAAB if you spend most of your time idling and avoiding the police.....
In fact the only place it makes sense to own a sports car is on the wide open roads in the Midwest, where the wide open highways stretch to the horizon....I feel claustraphobic here...unfriendly tense high strung people...Man send me back to Oklahoma............

This is not the autobahn - but if you were to get the opportunity to travel the Natchez Trace the serenity is awesome. A real Federal Highway and no trucks allowed.

I know what you mean. I got stuck in downtown LA at rush hour. We moved a grand total of ten feet in forty five minutes. It really made me appreciate the roads we have here. I live a little east of the city out by Lake Thunderbird and it has some really pretty scenary, the kind you don't appreciate until you get stuck in a place like that. Some times I think about moving in to town when I graduate then I think about my thirty acre wooded back yard and I know I couldn't live in town.

Do they still patrol that like it's the entrance road to Fort Knox? 45 mph and you'd better not go 46! I used to travel parts of the Trace during my college summers - that was the only road in Mississippi we would not speed on.

I agree that it is very scenic.

Well, not that bad. They are serious about the speed limit as they want it to remain a scenic parkway. You don't see as many patrols as in the past, maybe budget cutbacks. For the most part everyone obeys.
