Injector return lines

I have a 76 300D 115 And it looks as though the black braided lines that I think are returnlines are leaking fuel and I was wondering where I can get those and also inside of the clear hose that runs to my fuel canister there is a few bubbles floating inside of there is this normal? or could the leaking hoses be directly related to the air in that line? the car runs fine otherwise. Thanks much

Return line is readily abailable and I think you should replace.
When a line gets wet or leaks I always replace it.

You can buy it for $10.78 from our forum sponsor:

Other places have it too.

The air bubbles don't bother me, but some others might disagree, let's see what they say.

If it's the same as on the 123 chassis 240D, I just bought a whole lot more than I needed. Part #605 078 05 81.

$4.00 including shipping for a meter of it.

I called my local MB dealer this morning and for the above mentioned part number (Part #605 078 05 81) he quoted me $1.32 an inch - yes, an inch. Figuring I need over 3 feet, I promptly hung up the phone.

Anyone know where I can get a deal like Len got? I have searched the net and the only place I found, you have to email to get a price quote which I am still waiting on. (samstag sales)

I would like to stay with the braided stuff, but the viton line I have read about will be a last resort.

I'm a bit of a newbie here and with diesel's in general. I need to replace mine and I am sensitive to the need for durable materials b/c I use biodiesel (dfwbiodiesel.com). I have found polyurethane hose here: http://www.procycle.us/main/fuel_hose.htm
I'm thinking I'll check out the local bike shop tomorrow for possible replacement hose.

I get my biodiesel at the same place.

Go to carquest, ask for 1/8" fuel line, and your golden.

I'm running it right now.

That looks like the polyurathane hose that I got from http://www.mcmaster.com/ .

Is it a pale transparent blue/green?

I switched over to the autohauzaz stuff a bit over a year ago. no problems yet- running wvo. and all diesel in MN is 2% bio, but i dont use much of that.

for the price, get 2 meters, you'll be set for years vs the dealer!!

I think the clearish stuff is cool- you can see the bubbles.

This is what I used, http://www.usplastic.com/catalog/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=USPlastic&category%5Fname=29331&product%5Fid=7945
If it was good enough for the Navy aircraft I used to work on..... good enough for my Mercedes
