Speacial Edition
http://portland.craigslist.org/car/147537452.html
I just e-mailed the guy and we'll see what he/she has to say. I just have never heard nor seen a special edition W115 300D. The only thing I notice different right off the top is that of course the two tone paint (could have been done at anytime) and the 123 Bundt wheels which I'm 90% sure could not have come on that car. I've also never seen that beige color on the earlier W115. Now if it was a really speacial car I would guess that it would at least come with a passenger side mirror. Has anyone out there seen or heard of this before. I just realized I haven't done a search on the forum yet. I'll do that next. Just thought I would ask as if anyone knows someone on here does.

Bundt wheels aren't confined to the 123, they were available when the 115 was in production; I even have a 74 or 75 115 with them.

That just looks like your typical, run of the mill W115 300D to me, nothing special that I can see.

The special edition probably just refers to the paint job and wheel selection. My guess would be those options were only available from certain dealerships or something along those lines. I know some of the dealers around here offered special pinstriping/monogramming on my model (mine did not have it done). It's not really "special edition," so much as unual choice of options, would be my guess. Kind of a neat car, although the two-tone does make it look a little "old manish."
BTW, it is not the first two-tone 115 I have seen ... I've seen two others.
