Exterior Mirror Power Operated-1982 300SD

I posted this before and made a mistake by saying it was a 200SD-Typo Mistake

My exterior mirror motors run inside but the mirror does not move. I tried to take apart the mirror but could not figure how to take apart.

Can these be taken apart and repaired?

Can anybody let me know how to take apart to look inside. I tried and could not figure it out so quit.

Thank you for reading,

Steve

Are you wanting to remove the entire assembly of just the mirror itself?

Push the mirror head backwards to the window glass. You will have access through the joint to disconnect the spring clip (both sides) Hemostats work very well for grabbing the ends. Wiggle the spring to assure it's dislodged all the way around as it's probably been seated for 20+ years. The manual calls for using a plastic wedge to unhook the tension clip and then moving around the mirror to unseat the mirror base. An old toothbrush handle works fine. Work slowly and gently at corners. The right hand side of picture at about the 2 o'clock position is an open hinge the mirror pivots on.
Pictured below is the inside of the mirror base so that you can get a visual of what you are doing. To re-seat mirror attach spring to circle base on mirror and simple press on to you hear it snap.
