Oil Pressure Gauge Question

My car shows the pressure at full (3) when driving and falls to just under 2 when at a stop. The DH was a bit worried about this.
Is this normal, abnormal, or check-it-out-right-away kind of thing.
Thanks!

Mine does exactly the same thing, which I view as normal. At start up it'll go to 3 and slowwwwly drop down 2 if just at an idle. Add any go pedal at all and it's back at 3.

Same here. It is normal. I go up to 45 then only once the engine is warm and the oil isn't quite as thick it goes back down to 29-30. At idle it is always at 45 but if I put it in drive with the brake on then it will move on down to 30.

Now if you come to stop and it breifly drops way below that and then comes back up you better check your dipstick. From what I understand the oil sloshes away from the pick up then levels back out. Means you are a couple quarts shy if not more.

Thanks!

She seems to have a bit of an oil leak, according to my driveway.
Gotta see where that may be coming from.
Nice to know the pressure thing is normal.

I think the oil leak comes standard on these older Mercedes Benz...no extra charge! I'm still chasing down oil leaks....it has become a normal Saturday afternoon routine.

Someone posted "It's not leaking, it's marking it's spot!"

That's an old Harley Davidson saying.

Hey Imag...

The pressure is 3 bar not 3 psi. Big difference.

Yeah,

I was just pointing out where the needle is on the gauge, not mentioning psi.
Thanks.
