99 300TD Glow Plug Question???

I just got done taking out the six glow plugs off my 99 MB e300TD. The car has 66K and glow plugs where done back in 02.

My question is that the glow plugs that were in there where bosch french plugs. I bought the new set from MB and they are Beru Germany. One of the caps that snaps to the glow plug no longer snaps. Please tell me that I can just replace that part not the whole damn wiring harness.

I like the old type that you simply bolt on to the top of the gp.

Thanks for your help.

George

Wow, you really are tearing into your new car aren't you? Did you find a bad glow plug or why did you decide to do this job? Beru and Bosch are both good and OEM. I was in that area recently but I can't tell you for sure if you can just replace the connectors. My impression is that you can separate the plastic connectors from the wiring. If you examine it closely you should be able to tell. If you find that it's not separable, perhaps you can come up with a way to secure the connector with some wire or something. Wish I could help more.

YES you can. If I were home and not on vacation I could go out to my toolbox and read the MB part numbers to you off the spares I bought when I broke a couple during my glowplug change.

As I recall, the dealer didn't charge too much for them.
