Question Engine Misses.....?

Hey everyone, Just got another 82 300SD. It misses when its cold. I have not
had a chanch to have a really good look yet. So I thought I would ask what
you think. Will be at it most of the day, so any help would help speed things up.
Thanks Jay

I was actually about to post the same question. Running Diesel Purge through it and a valve adjustment did not seem to help any on my '82. I think the valve adjustment may have made it stumble a little bit worst when cold. My valves were WAY out of adjustment too. Maybe new injectors?

Yeah my SD does that, I just bring the rpms up a bit for a minute or so and it goes away.

I diesel purge did nothing and the valves are within spec, fresh glow plugs as well.

I have a large amount of blow by, I suspect its a weak cylinder that just doesn't catch right away. Since its a 617 its probably cylinder number 1.

You could have the injectors checked, but if it was an injector it should skip all the time.

Sounds like compression check time before going further. Otherwise you might land up chasing your tail. Just noticed you have not set your valves yet and thought you had. That first of course.
