Shakey at 1100 RPM
I unhooked my fuel lines today and hooked up a jar to the system to check to see if there was any difference in throttle response so I could determine if my tank screen was clogged.
I noticed that when I hold my car at around 1100 rpm the engine is a little clattery and my car produces smoke. The engine was at operating temperature, and was not smoking above or below this rough RPM estimate. Do any of you guys have any idea what the culprit would be? I thought I could hear some nailing like the timing or injector timing could be off, but I am an absolute novice when it comes to timing stuff.

How many miles on the car? Could be the rack damper bolt spring is getting weak.

Try a diesel purge first, it works wonders!
