Bilsteins are the only way to go, they let W126's almost hold a candle to the more modern S's ride wise.

Subframe refurb

Apologies for hijacking this thread... but I recently replaced my shocks with Bilsteins - on my '79 107 and '85 123 - and, as noted earlier, not a great improvement so I'm preparing to rehab my subframe mounts etc. Can anyone suggest a good (online) source to help me through the job? I've done a search on ShopForum, but most of the posts don't have the detail I'm looking for - if one exists, I'd appreciate directions to it.

I have sports on my 123. I like them, but I do almost all my driving on highways. They are a little harsh on rough roads, so I think it depends on how/where you drive.
