apology

i apologize for saying p.e. haiges does not know what he is talking about...

that was unkind... so I am sorry...

but I stand by the statement that 83 300sd's are vacuum controled....
everything on the car runs off vacuum.... in fact there are nearly more vacuum controls than there are electrical controls....and there is nothing that will make you more miserable than a vacuum problem.... when dealing with your 300sd.....most people discover the vacuum system when there transmission is not shifting....

Just for the record, Paul's statement was as follows:

Quote:

Vacuum leaks have no effect on a Diesel engine because the intake air is not throttled like it is a gasoline engine.
He never discussed any accessories on the vehicle. He simply stated that a vacuum leak would not have any affect on the diesel engine.

Vacuum leaks may affect the climate control system, the EGR, the transmission, or the capability to shutdown, but, they cannot effect the diesel engine.

Therefore, his statement was accurate.

Brian Carlton and KRS,

Thank you for the support. I looked and looked for blueranger's post that I don't know nothing about Mercedes Diesels but I couldn't find it. I only found the quote in your post.

But in blueranger's crude English: " He don't know nothing about Mercedes Diesels" (Double Negative), blueranger was actually correct. LOL

blueranger,

Apology accepted.

I had requested that he amend the offending post.

He complied with the request and issued the apology.

Brian,

So that's why I couldn't find blueranger's post about me.

I had guessed he might have deleted it.

But I sure wasted a lot of time looking for it.

Wow... I certainly didn't intend for this thread to get as personal as it has. Glad that's all out of the way.

Anyhow, I did buy the MB 300SD, and I'll definitely be asking a lot more questions on here now!

Denis
