Parts Cleaner

I just bought myself a 20 gallon parts cleaner, anyone suggest what is the best fluid to use for these dirty diesel parts?

I like Purple Power. You can get a gallon jugs at Walmart for like $5.

Don't know about purple power, but Simple Green is biodegradable, and it really works. You just need to let it soak for a few minutes like it says. You will be amazed. Also available in the big jug at Lowes.

Go to Home Depot and get the Zep citrus cleaner. It is the best degreaser on the planet and is all natural. It is water soluable so you can rinse the parts. If you want a solvent based cleaner that evoporates, then try the other ep products made just for parts washers.

Can you run Zep citrus cleaner through the parts washer pump?

I dont see why you could not. The pumps are made for all kinds of caustic solvents, so the citrus cleaner should not be a problem.

I second Californian (I think)

Biodiesel is a great parts cleaner. It's worth making a small 5 gallon bucket batch to do so. Checkout infopop.biodiesel.cc

Best part is the BD is a good parts cleaner and the glycerine byproduct is a good degreaser for everything else... like when I get grease on the car or, etc... But be careful because BD will strip some paint...
