77 300d tranny slipping

wouldn't you know it, when diesel finally drops below gas the old benz starts acting up. I had parked her over the last month and she ran fine. now the transmission is slipping 1st 2cd and reverse. The transmission seems engaged, but it takes alot of rpms to get it moving. I have read through prior post, but this tranny does not have vacuum lines running to it. I was hoping someone out there would know a good starting place with this particular model. I have checked the fluid level and it is ok. and all the linkege seem to be hooked up and tight. It just seems funny that the tranny would just stop working, but that may be the way that it goes.
