I just bought a '98 E300 a few months ago and it recently started to "stumble" for a few seconds after startup. Since I was unclear on the status of the fuel filters, I changed the pre-filter and O-ring as well as the spin-on fuel filter along with the 2 small O-rings for that as well.
Now, things are worse as the amount of air getting into the fuel supply lines is very noticeable as it looks like more air than fuel when it is at idle. The fuel supply lines are very dark and stiff so I ordered a complete set from Phil. Since I'm grounded for the moment, I took a look at the fuel lines and fittings and I'm amazed how cheap they look. Does anyone know why the fuel supply system fittings are not designed a little more sturdy, say, use tapped holes with screw-in fittings? Has anyone tried something like this on their diesel?
