87 SDL Book or Video Tutorials?

I have several issues with a new to me 87 SDL that I feel I could correct, but don't know where all these parts are that I find myself reading about when I search topics... Trans Vac Modulator?, K-1 Kits? linkages....

Apparently there's no Haynes manual for the car, nor anything much else except a very expensive Chilton's manual ($180 ?) that probably won't be that good anyway.

Problems I think are simple fixes that I'm willing to attempt:

Super sluggishness (start the car and put in first and you can a brisk walk will get you there faster - and it's 70 degrees out today!) It gets better when warmed up.

Hard shifting from 1-2 and 2-3. I know these have been covered on the forum, but I can't VISUALIZE where some of these parts are. Thanks for any advice and I'll keep searching the forums.

Bill

These vehicles have limited documentation.

The FSM is the best choice for them........either in CD or hard copy.

You need to familiarize yourself with the system, as best as possible, and then ask a question on the forum when you get jammed up.

It's a reasonably complex vehicle for a new fellow to start with. But, it's been done before..........and successfully I might add.

The vehicle most certainly needs the lines from the manifold to the overboost valve and onto the ALDA cleaned out so there is no obstructions.

Then, the ALDA, itself, most certainly needs an adjustment at this age. You'll need to get familiar with removing it from the IP to make that adjustment since it's buried below the manifold.
