Trans-X question

I'm off work next week, and wagon maintanence will fill much of my time. Part of that is a tranny service. So, my question:
Should I run the TransX for awhile prior to my fluid and filter change, or should I add it during my fluid change, and just keep it in there?

in a perfect world

in a perfect world you would put some in a few days before..
drive it around and let it take out some gunk... then you would change
it and put a quart in with the new stuff....

but you can just put a qt in with the new stuff ....

ATF service

1. How long since your last service ?
If it's been a while , I might throw 4 ounces (liquid) of Trans X down the "Tube"
and drive around for a day or so...assuming that doesn't over fill the pan.[That
Trans X is a pretty powerful dispersant!]
2. 'Change fluid and filter , refilling the "Tranny" with Mobil 1 ATF

No idea when last serviced. I bought the car about a year ago. About 3500 miles. I guess I will add alittle prior and at least go for a good highway run somewhere.
It was 101 here today, so I have to find that AC leak next week also....

I'd drain off a quart and add that much trans-x, & drive it all week. You want it to loosen gum deposits in the valve body and varnish on the clutch faces. A few ounces won't do anything. See recommendations on the container.

The box doesn't mention adding TransX then draining later and refilling. I can see it both ways: 1). removed sludge and varnish would be loosened, trapped in filter, then removed upon filter change. 2). new clean fluid with TransX for on-going cleaning and freshening of seals.
Just to review, about 6 quarts of fluid, and you check level with car hot and running?

I believe I have read, on the service CD, that the best way is to refill with 4 quarts, start the engine, add a quart, and then the rest being used to top off at operating temp with car running in park.

Transmission Problem With 1991 300 Se M/b

The reverse is very weak and will only reverse when the car is on an level ground with a bit of decline, if there is any elevation on the surface it will not reverse. It was changing gears normally but now I have noticed that its not changing and the RPm goes up to 40 and the car has no power so I have to drive very slow. I added Lucas transmission fix it worked for awhile but now does not seem to help, Any advise or help would be appreciated

I would read the directions on the transX container and follow them.

When was the last time you serviced the transmission? Sounds like either a fluid level problem or blocked filter.
