AC line size

I am upgrading my AC condenser to the parallel flow type for better cooling on my 83 300SD. Since I am using a universal type condenser it has standard #6 & #8 connection fittings for the in and out connections on the condenser. I'm going to be making custom hoses to make this work. What I have found out is that 4 sizes of connections exist. #6, #8, #10, #12. The hose sizes also equal these numbers. The high side MB hose appears to be a #8 with a #8 connection fitting and I should be able to make that one no problem. But the hose that connects to the Dryer I'm not sure of the size.
What I need to know is what size is the connection on the dryer. See attached photo, I have circled in red the fitting I need the size of. No the red circle is not round.

I've done this on mine. I advise "mocking up" the hoses and trying them in first; then crimping.
Hint they're always longer than you think.

The fitting size on one (maybe both) hose(s) was a "reduction" fitting . Different size hose than fitting. The high side port had to be crimped in separate, as there was not a reducer fitting with a built in port. Check this site and really study it:

Clearance by the radiator support upright, left side by headlight, had to be "nibbled" for clearance for one hose. I got the largest P-flow that could fit. Works like a charm. Good luck.

Here's a site that properly calls them fittings. Call them for the odd angle ones.

Ok the step down fittings look like what I need to make this hose. But what size does the dryer take? Is it a #6?
