G 350td rough idle motor code 603.960

HI everybody.

I have a Gelandewagen 1995 mod 350 turbo diesel.
I am living i Norway.

My problem is.

After a head gasket change the idle is rough...

when it revs up to 1000 rpm it is ok.

Timing on the cam is ok makr on cam is at is mark at 0 degreas tdc.

15 degress atdc the pump v I can see in the peep hole on ip

it is 01.39 am

I am still at the work shop dont understand what can be wrong please help

603.xxx engines suffer from leaking pressure valve holder seals in the injection pump. If someone "fixed" a leak from bad o-rings on the top of the pump while doing the head gasket, likely you need to replace the copper seal inside.

Otherwise, could be a bad injector, leaking line, or bad IP, not related to the head gasket change.

Check the injectors for proper seating -- if there is something bubbling up around the threads, replace the seal and re-torque the injector.

Thank you all for answers.

It seems like the timing was a bit off. the engine runs smoother now even for its 600.000 km.

In Norway we have some sick import taxses on cars.

So suv like the g model are rebuilt several times..

this one has a 1984 model frame and body, 1995 interior and drive train.

the frame and body has more than 1 300.000 km on her..

So they are good cars, almost bullet proof....

Is this the Rod bender motor?

Which Cars? S-Class TurboDiesel Mercedes model years 1990 through 1995. Includes W-126 with engine 603.970 (1990 350SDL, 1991 350SD, 1991 350SDL) and W-140 with engine 603.971 (1992 300SD, 1993 300SD, 1994 S350, 1995 S350.)

warranty on 3.5 6 cyl engine
