Angry How long can I leave my Receiver Drier exposed before it becomes useless? (W123 300D)

How long can I leave my Receiver Drier exposed before it becomes useless? (W123 300D)
I uncapped my new Receiver Drier on my W123 85 300D, heard it "whoosh", which mean the vacuum seal was good & installed it went to pull a vacuum and couldn't. After 2 hours, I finally found the bad hose, and I have the replacement.
The receiver drier has been open for two days now and i cant get to until 2:30 PM at the earliest today...should I buy another one?

What's the humidity been like over the two days? The desiccant bag is hygroscopic by nature so it will absorb any bit of water from the air.

I'd go on the safe side and replace it . They can be bought for $26 on eBay, why risk freezing the system?

WARNING! WARNING! Please do not buy anything from this "e-stealer" unless you have searched and read the feedback on this forum. See the ebay alert sticky on top or just search "mercedes991".

Hardly worth the risk but wonder if a new dryer like yours could not be heated moderatly in an oven to dispell the reciently collected moisture. The chemical involved is supposed to be reversible in it's function. I thought with applied heat. Needless to say once oil is introduced the option is gone. Otherwise we might reuse old ones perhaps.
