Another Veggie Oil Question

I know we just got done with a blending thread but I wanted to ask one more question.
If I get only 5 gallons of waste oil per week can I just filter that and add it to my tank along with 16 gallons of diesel?
Also, do I need to hand blend it or is just adding it to my tank and letting the movement of the car do the blending enough?
About May 15 is the time in Denver when the temp stays above 40 even at night so I'd probably start trying this about 2 weeks from now.
Thanks to all,

Yes Siree!

Just pour in your five gallons, (if you have the room) and it will mix totally before you get a mile down the road. Or if your tank is low, add in the WVO and then when convenient add diesel in any amount. When you are done filling up, it will be well mixed.

Thanks Jim!!
That's what I wanted to hear!

Have you driven on WVO before?

Mixing is definetly not a problem. What can be a problem to a new user is getting it clean enough and dry, (all water out). Until you are sure it is clean and dry, don't get to far from home with out at least an extra primary filter and the screwdriver to change it. I also carry an extra secondary filter, though I have not had to change it. Keep filters clean and dry, like in zip lock bags.

This is all correct with diesel, but just as a quick warning for anyone wondering the same thing for a gasoline blend, MIX AHEAD OF TIME. Under no condition is it a good idea to have the possibility of unmixed gas going solo into your fuel line. Also, depending upon the local diesel, do a mix test ahead of time in a jar, and make sure that you don't get a bunch of precipitates. Some regional diesel is reported to have a problem with wax separation triggered by the veggie oil. Nobody wants to get a clogged filter half way home....
