Is it calibrated differently??? but we can always adjust it by feel, right?
In reading about our '85 transmissions, it seems that we can adjust the vac going to the tranny at the blue vacuum transducer on the driver's side fender. I've never tried adjusting mine, but I have noticed an orange screw-type thing on the underside of said transducer. You might want to search for this if you even read this post.

I believe the black modulator went on the 85 722.4 trans while the green went on the earlier 722.3 trans.

Put it up on ramps and get a lamp or lay under it for a minute or two until your eyes adjust. It's on the driver's side SIDE of the transmission. It's in the crevice between the transmission and frame indention for it.
