missing linkage 76 240d????
 

hi i bought a 76 240d manual tranny with several pieces of missing throttle linkage. the previous owner rigged up the existing linkage so it would still drive. the missing pieces are supposed to be connected to the injection pump. the injection pump has a lever on it that controls the engine idle speed. if you press it far enough the car dies. what is this supposed to be connected to. dose anyone have any pictures? also after atteming to mess with the existing linkage, the car seems to smoke alot more.???? any explanation.?
