extraneous timing bits?

how do I get to the other timing components, not just the chain?

I want to do all those bits, slider, tensioner, etc when I do the chain, but they don't look to be redily accessable, even with the engine on the stand.

there's nothing described in the FSM as far as I've found.

please tell me I don't have to pull the head.
the chain replacement described by dieselgiant's site is great, but I don't want to just change the chain.

thanks guys,
karl

In the FSM, main function group 05 Engine Timing, Valves and sub-function group 330 Removal and Installation of Tensioning Rail. (mb.braingears.com) (on-line FSM)

thanks,

I've used the braingears site a bit, but never saw the "more" button on the top, thought to self "self, this seems rather lacking for a FSM"

feeling sheepish,

Not a problem, it took me a while to poke through everything. The only hang up I have with the braingears site is that I am only on dial-up with a slow computer and half the time I can't get Adobe reader to open the pdf files.
