I think if I were a fleet operator I would offer a pretty good incentive package for the drivers to take care of the vehicles. The way they are driven surely has a lot to do with how long they last. There's no reason at all a new 2006 truck, properly operated and maintained, couldn't last 15 years.
What really spikes me around here are the police departments that simply MUST discard their vehicles at around 80,000 miles. Of course it is relatively severe service and you can't baby the car when you're responding to a call, but I still think there's an element of waste in the way the departments operate. Ken300D
