I changed my glow plugs, now when I start the engine she is "clacking" and smoking. I did use carb cleaner to clean GP holes and the intake, but I have ran the engine for about 3 minutes 2 times and I thought that it would have cleared by now. If I mixed the two vacuum line under the intake, would that give me this noise and smoke? Any thoughts?

Problem, found and fixed. This morning I cleaned the butterfly that is over the EGR. It had a layer of carbon on it. First I scrated it then I cleaned it with carb cleaner. The cleaner was laying in the hose between the EGR and the air filter box. Removed the hose and the clacking and smoke went away. Cleaned the hose out and the engine now sounds and run great. Jay PS, what is the use of the butterfly at the EGR?
