its basically an expansion upon the k1 kit

Do a search here. I put most of one in my car and it solved the 2-3 and 3-4 flare. Other bits are supposed to soften the 1-2.

Is there a kit to make it start in 1st every time? I would do that one after I go my car to shift on it's own.

StevenHamilton9 05-14-2006 08:33 PM

hey tenknots did you ever

did you ever install the rest of the shift kit? i had referrenced your thread to explain what it was. and how did it all work out for you?

to be really sure about what tranny you have...

read the numbers off the side of the tranny case/housing... usually stamped just above the pan. My 1980 300D os pm tje right [passenger] side and looks like this:
123270320 722 118 0 209816

My interpretation is that this is a 722.118 tranny and the S/N is 0209816

Steven, I never installed the parts designed to soften the 1-2 shift since I can do that with vacuum if the other shifts are OK. The rest of the parts are used to determine the level of firmness you want, ie; three different springs for the 3-4 shift. I put in all max firmness and it worked well.

StevenHamilton9 05-15-2006 09:25 PM

thank you, because i very much would like to firm up all of the shifts, mine are so soft that it flares and then pretty much skips a gear if i'm light footed on the shift, if i'm hard on the accelorator then it'll hit each gear

left over 3-4 spring

If anyone has a 3-4 spring for firming the shift leftover, I'll gladly buy it. My 3-4 slips out if I try to accelarate uphill.
