more questions
Thanks to all who have posted stuff for me. What did people do prior to the internet??
Anyway, I now am worried about oil, oil filters, fuel filters. Prior to reading all the other Posts , I would just go to my local auto parts store and just buy oil, filter etc, with out much thought as where or how good the item I am buying. On my Isuzu, I used Shell 15w/40 for the last 3 or 4 hundred thousand miles. After the price rose to over 8 dollars a gallon, I started using Coastal 15w/40 . I did check to make sure the C and D ratings were the same as Shell. After reading several different Posts, I am going back to Shell for both the Isuzu and the 240d. Now oil filters when Autozone and Advance Auto stopped stocking the oil filter for the Isuzu, I now buy from NAPA. But at 22.00 per filter, I am still looking for something cheaper. After buying the 240d, I went to Advance Auto and came out with Purlator oil filter and fuel filters (primary and secondary). Now, I am not sure if Purlator is a good brand. Bottom line, would like to know what brand of oil, oil filters, and fuel filters other 240d owners use. Bob |

before the internet, we had to learn it on our own, from our dads, from the neighbor, or from books. it took a lot longer, but there was a lot less to know back then. cars are a lot more complex now.
my first car, a 1960 simca aronde had a pushrod four with a one barrel carburator, a four on the tree shifter, excellent nimble handling, and most important to a horney teenager with grand ideas, reclining front seats! good thing it was easy to work on cause it was a pos quality wise. i rebuilt the tranny twice, the motor once and swapped the motor once. kindof a constant demonstration device for beginning auto repair! tom w
