1983 300SD Transmission Problem

Well I may have my first major problem. Car has 323,000 miles. Started the car up backed out of the driveway put it in drive and nothing. I had to bring the RPM's up to go forward at a crawl back up the driveway. Where do I start looking?

Fluid was a little low. I put in about 1/3 quart. It still hardly moves at high rpm's. Reverse is normal.

Thanks for all of your help. I removed the B2 (it was in two pieces) so I think I have the problem solved. I have a few questions:

thjere was a bar that came out (about 2 or 3 inches) Is that part of the B2 ?
How do i know if the sleeve is good and should be replaced?
